My first officer, engrossed in his iPad, has the navigation charts spread open like a treasure map. Not that it will matter—Santa’s keeping our drop zone under wraps until the very last minute. He says it’s to keep the surprise safe, but I suspect he just loves the drama. Whatever the case, we’re running through every possible scenario, imagining the smiles we’ll deliver tonight.
